Trump willing to pressure Ukraine to accept Putin’s “great deal”

Trump briefly switched from trying to wreck the global economy to once again getting on Ukraine’s nerves

And now it’s clear why he suddenly resumed attacking Zelenskyy and Biden (though he never really needs a reason to bash the latter), accusing Ukraine of being responsible for Russia's invasion. Apparently, Trump had a chat with his fixer-friend Witkoff, who recently had a very cozy sit-down with Putin. Now, he is going around claiming that they’re closer than ever and that some kind of super-duper partnership is on the horizon. He also mentioned some of Putin’s ideas, which he found just delightful — including the topic of Ukraine’s five regions and even NATO’s Article 5. The latter is bound to make not just Ukrainians but the Baltic states nervous.

Whatever sweet tune Witkoff sang to his buddy Trump, it made Trump forget he’s supposedly the world’s greatest dealmaker. He didn’t even latch onto the idea of making tens of billions by selling weapons to Ukraine — which must have surprised U.S. arms manufacturers, who are usually very loyal to the Republicans.

What did Witkoff hear from Putin? Probably that the Russian dictator isn’t against peace in principle — just that it needs to be a "stable" peace, 100% peace, eternal peace, with an eternal partnership. A partnership very profitable for New York developers.

And for that to happen, Ukraine simply needs to surrender and hand over Kherson and Zaporizhzhia. That way, Ukraine would only lose 25% of its territory — which, coincidentally, Trump mentioned in his recent speeches that would ace any cognitive test. That’s also why, apparently, Putin refuses half-measures like ceasefires. So don’t be mad at him — just understand and accept. Vekselberg did. Who knows what else he got in those suitcases full of “arguments.”

Of course, Witkoff passed on Putin’s message to Trump that the strike on Sumy was just a mistake. Who doesn’t make mistakes? Except Trump, of course, who never makes mistakes and never loses at golf.

Now Witkoff is saying that he, Trump, and Putin are on the brink of something huge. The whole world is waiting. Holding its breath.

And if Ukraine doesn’t agree to such a deal? Well, then it’s Ukraine’s fault. First, they forced poor Putin to invade by colluding with that wretched Biden, and now they’re refusing to surrender. Standing in the way of world happiness. Preventing Trump from finally proving he’s the best dealmaker ever — even if just one tiny deal, with penguins if need be.

So Trump’s jab at Zelenskyy and refusal to talk about selling Patriot missiles likely shows he’s ready to pressure Ukraine into accepting Putin’s “brilliant” plan.

The only comforting thing? So far, every time Trump has tried to force anyone to do anything, it’s ended in disaster — mostly for Trump himself. His trade war against Xi and the penguins is the most shining example of that.
