That’s according to CNN, citing a senior official in the U.S. administration.
For now, it remains an open question whether Trump will travel to Istanbul for the talks. However, the source told the outlet that his attendance hinges on Putin’s presence.
“It is all very dynamic right now,” the official said, adding that “no one knows much” about what will happen on Thursday.
Still, the source claimed that the possibility of Trump joining the negotiations in Istanbul has put “significant pressure on Putin.”
