Three men convicted of arson at UK businesses linked to Ukraine
In the UK, three men have been found guilty of carrying out arson attacks on businesses in London connected to Ukraine. Authorities allege that the attacks were orchestrated by Russian mercenaries from the Wagner Group
Reuters reported the information.
The fire took place in 2024 at a London industrial site. The fire was aimed at two premises belonging to a company that was delivering parcels to Ukraine, including satellite equipment from Starlink.
The three men convicted were 23-year-old Nii Kojo Mensah, his peer Jakeem Rose, and 20-year-old Ugnius Asmena.
Prosecutor Duncan Penny stated that the arson was organized by Dylan Earl, who admitted his guilt. He emphasized that the defendant knowingly acted under the instructions of the Wagner Group, which is banned in the UK as a terrorist organization, and was aware that he was acting against Ukraine's interests and in favor of Russia.
Meanwhile, Mensah, Rose, and Asmena were convicted by the jury, although they denied their involvement in the arson with aggravating circumstances.
