The commander of Ukraine's Third Assault Brigade, Andriy Biletskyi, said.
"I thank the soldiers for the worthy fight they gave the enemy in Avdiivka in the face of total numerical superiority of the Russians in manpower, equipment, and shells. They did everything and more. I am grateful to everyone for their resilience," he said.
According to him, the soldiers will retreat to prepared positions to return and strike back even harder.
To avoid encirclement and save lives, the Ukrainian army command decided to withdraw troops from Avdiivka and move to defense on more favorable lines.
