Reuters reports.
He noted that the request to delay the delivery of the Gripen system came from countries that are members of the Air Defence Coalition.
"We have been urged by the other countries in the coalition to wait with the Gripen system," Defense Minister Pal Jonson said, referring to nations that plan to donate U.S.-made F-16 planes to Ukraine.
According to him, the suspension of plans to supply Gripen to Ukraine is due to the fact that "focus is now on introducing the F-16 system".
- On May 28, Belgian Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib announced that her country was ready to provide Ukraine with 30 F-16 fighter jets by 2028. At the same time, Prime Minister Alexander de Croo stressed that Ukraine would be able to use them only on its territory.
