Russian forces face fatal consequences in attempts to storm islands on Dnipro River
Invading Russian army periodically conducts assaults in the Prydniprovskyi sector
Serhii Bratchuk, spokesman of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army South, shared the information on Espreso TV.
"We face attacks from Russian paratroopers and motorized infantry units. Ukrainian marines deserve thanks for holding our positions steadfastly. Recently, there was an attempted assault on the islands in the Dnipro. The marines of the Russian 61st Separate Marine Brigade attempted to land on one of these islands and met with resistance. As I mentioned before, their attempt ended with their capture or death," Bratchuk explained.
According to him, the Russian army is attempting to storm the area, but Ukrainian forces are actively resisting.
"These assaults occur sporadically. It's unpredictable - every other day or during nighttime. Whenever they assemble an assault group and have watercraft ready, they make the attempt. However, our drones are operating very effectively. We must also acknowledge that the 'little sky' is still on Ukraine's side today," Bratchuk explained.
- Over the past day, the invading Russian army lost another 1,110 troops and dozens of equipment at the front.
