Some Kherson residents now have device that alerts them to nearby Russian drones

"The drone detector Tsukorok is a protective device. First of all, I wouldn’t say it’s a luxury, but not everyone has it. Secondly, when you order it, you have to wait because there is a very high demand for them. It’s our Ukrainian development, and some Kherson residents already have it," explained Virlych.

According to the editor-in-chief of the Kherson publication Kavun.City, the Tsukorok drone detector identifies enemy UAVs, signaling that a drone is nearby.

"But full protection, in my opinion, is only provided by military systems. We can see from the number of attacks that even military systems don't always protect, and they don’t always shoot down the drones. I can only imagine how many things the Russians are launching that, despite the EW systems, still reach us," noted Virlych.

The editor-in-chief of the Kherson publication Kavun.City added that the Russians cynically target people on bicycles and elderly individuals at bus stops.

"Older people are less mobile than younger ones. It's easier for younger people to run away and orient themselves. It's harder for the elderly. And in reports, you can often see that the injured are primarily elderly people, but the Russians are cynical, and they take advantage of this. Tsukorok is a very good thing, but it doesn't protect against everything. It signals well that a Russian drone is flying nearby," Virlych concluded.

Note: The Tsukorok detector is a compact device designed to detect enemy drones. It operates in passive mode and remains undetectable to electronic warfare systems (EW). When drones are detected, it provides vibration and sound alerts and also displays the drone's type on the screen.
