In a recent update, Lieutenant General Serhii Naiev, Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, shed light on the current situation in the Northern operational zone. Despite ongoing challenges, the region remains under Ukrainian control.
However, General Naiev highlighted concerning developments on multiple fronts. Within Russian territory, an estimated 20,000 personnel form an adversary group. These forces consistently conduct reconnaissance, shell border areas, and aggressively enhance engineering and fortification measures.
The Russian forces are actively modernizing its military capabilities, upgrading weapons, and undertaking rearmament efforts. Furthermore, along the Belarusian border, approximately 1,800 Belarusian armed forces personnel, in addition to border security units, contribute to the reinforcement of the border. Continuous military and law enforcement training activities, coupled with the augmentation of surveillance systems and engineering fortifications, are observed along the border.
As part of the so-called "Union State," Belarus continues to provide substantial assistance to Russia in its armed aggression against Ukraine. This assistance involves the supply and repair of weaponry and military equipment. Belarusian military-industrial complex facilities are engaged in the production of new munitions and the refurbishment of outdated ordnance, further contributing to the ongoing conflict.
