Russia's “truce”: occupying forces continue assaults near Vovchansk
On the Kharkiv front, Russian troops continue their assaults near Vovchansk despite the declared "truce"
Pavlo Shamshyn, spokesperson for the Kharkiv Operational Tactical Group, reported.
"The so-called truce declared by Putin is not felt at all on the Kharkiv front. In fact, over the past week, we’ve seen a significant increase in enemy activity. On some days, the enemy launched around 11 assault operations, attacking our positions. The hotspots remain unchanged, especially around Vovchansk. The town has essentially ceased to exist as a livable place, but the enemy continues storming it," he said.
Shamshyn emphasized that the enemy is shelling Vovchansk with artillery of various calibers, multiple rocket launchers, and mortars.
Meanwhile, in the Dvorichna area, Russian forces shifted their activity northward over the past week. According to the spokesperson, the enemy launched attacks near the villages of Stroivka and Topoli.
On May 9, Roman Kostenko, Member of Parliament and Colonel of the Security Service of Ukraine, noted that the "truce" is not being observed at the front: while it's quieter in some areas, fighting continues in others.
