Russia’s only aircraft electronics plant halts operations
The only supplier of aircraft microelectronics in Russia has frozen accounts and mounting debts due to losses from the war in Ukraine
This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation .
"The enterprise 'Optron-Stavropol' is currently on the verge of bankruptcy due to huge losses incurred while fulfilling a state defense order. The company’s accounts have been frozen due to tax, utility, and salary debts," the report states.
Meanwhile, Moscow set artificially low prices for the enterprise's products and forced it to operate at a loss for an extended period, despite the fact that “Optron-Stavropol” is the only supplier of microelectronics for Russian aircraft.
"Although Russian propaganda claims constant growth in defense industry production, in reality, during the fourth year of full-scale war against Ukraine, Russia is being forced to cut budget spending even on defense contracts. Prolonged war-related expenses continue to undermine the Russian economy, affecting even the operations of unique defense enterprises," the Center for Countering Disinformation concludes.
- Earlier, the Center for Countering Disinformation reported that the real estate market and construction sector in Russia continue to decline sharply, particularly due to massive spending to support the war against Ukraine.
