Russia's mass attacks on Ukraine aim to create panic, says expert
Putin's strategy is to destabilize Ukraine with massive air attacks and create fear among civilians
This opinion was expressed by aviation expert and analyst Kostyantyn Kryvolap on air of the Espreso TV channel.
"Massive Russian attacks for three days in a row were expected, because recently all events taking place in the space have more of a political than a military sense, but they are being implemented through military actions.
When the whole world realized that it was impossible to negotiate with Putin, that he is incapable of this, that he wants to fight, and when this was already declared. And now, when he promised to prepare something like a memorandum, a tough document, even tougher than the Budapest Memorandum, a new all-Russian or some other memorandum, he will try to force Ukraine into capitulation.
And how to force? They are moving on the front somehow, but their speed is like that of turtles. If we talk about Gerasimov’s doctrine, the first point is propaganda, the second point is creating panic among the population, and only the third is military actions," said Kryvolap.
Therefore, the current strategy is to create panic among the population. According to the aviation expert, this calculation can be compared to the expectations of taking Kyiv in three days.
Kryvolap also noted that he hopes for the increased ability of Ukraine’s Defense Forces to strike targets within Russian territory.
"I think that those who have remained, those who live here permanently, have already made their choice and are very hard to intimidate. But what Putin is doing is still horrible; it’s the destruction of cities, villages, streets, and so on. And I really hope that our ability to respond will not decrease but increase, because recently, I also understand that we have accumulated, and we have been attacking for several days now.
But I don’t see our missile potential being used in strikes against Russia. This is because there was a report from Subotin, the Minister of Strategic Industries, that we strike Russia with cruise drone-missiles and ballistic missiles 40 to 60 times a month. I haven't seen them much lately. I would like them to be much more," added the aviation expert.
