Russia's claims about Pokrovsk's assault are not true, says Khortytsia strategic group
Russian forces spread false information about the beginning of active assaults on the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk region
Viktor Trehubov, a spokesman for the Khortytsia unit, told Espreso TV.
"The situation has been unchanged in the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia separate military unit for a week now. Russians are attacking very actively in the Novopavlivka, Pokrovsk and Lyman sectors. Most attacks were registered in the Pokrovsk sector. Russians are trying to advance north of Pokrovsk-Kostiantynivka. This is where most of the Russian forces and equipment are concentrated.
The Russians are trying to develop an offensive in the direction of Kostiantynivka, and they are also trying to bypass the Pokrovsk agglomeration from the direction of Myrnohrad. The situation along the entire front line remains extremely tense. The enemy is conducting active assaults in the Kramatorsk and Toretsk sectors. There are also attacks in the Siversk sector," said Trehubov.
According to the spokesperson, the information about the presence of Russian troops in the Dnipropetrovsk region is also untrue.
"The enemy's information about the beginning of an active assault on Pokrovsk is not true. I simply cannot accept any statements of the Russians anymore, and I do not advise anyone to do so. Let me remind you that according to their statements, they did not take Kyiv in three days, but the same Toretsk was taken back in February, when their Ministry of Defense announced it. The same applies to the storming of Pokrovsk and those announcements where they say they are already on the territory of Dnipropetrovsk region. This information should not be taken into account," he summarized.
- Over the course of July 18, 177 combat clashes occurred along the Russian-Ukrainian front. In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian troops stopped 47 Russian assault and offensive actions.
