Russian troops unable to move equipment across Oskil River – Ukrainian military
Deputy Commander of the 429th Detached Regiment of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles "Achilles," Oles Malyarevych, has said that, despite persistent efforts, Russian forces have been unable to transfer their military equipment to the right bank of the Oskil River
He shared this information on Espreso TV.
"We are operating in the Kupiansk sector. That's both north and south of the region, including the entire territory on the right bank of the Oskil River. This area remains under the control of Ukraine’s Defense Forces. So far, the enemy has failed to move equipment across the river, especially north of Dvorichna. They are actively trying, constantly setting up pontoon crossings, but our job is to prevent this and disrupt their logistics. Right now, the Russians are relying heavily on infantry. However, without equipment support, their troops cannot advance and are being eliminated by our firepower," Malyarevych stated.
He also noted that Ukraine’s Defense Forces are carrying out limited counteroffensive actions in the Kupiansk direction.
"On the right bank of the Oskil River, the enemy has managed to concentrate a small force — over 500 troops. Since they haven’t been able to transport equipment, they can’t even evacuate their wounded. It’s also worth mentioning that our forces are conducting minor counteroffensive operations in the area. The objectives are being met, and the occupiers are unable to push forward," he added.
- On March 16, Ukraine’s General Staff reported that over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces eliminated 1,400 Russian soldiers and destroyed 10 tanks and 180 drones.
