Russia says it downed nearly 30 drones overnight, fires erupt in Kaluga, Bryansk regions
On the night of Sunday, December 1, Russia claimed an attack involving 29 drones across four regions. Debris from the drones reportedly caused damage in Kaluga and Bryansk regions

The Russian Ministry of Defense released the information.
According to their statement, air defense systems shot down 20 UAVs over the Bryansk region, seven over Kaluga, and one each over Kursk and Smolensk regions during the night.
Kaluga Governor Vladislav Shapsha confirmed the drone strikes and stated that a fire broke out on the outskirts of a settlement, away from residential areas, due to falling UAV debris. Officials reported no casualties.
Meanwhile, in the Bryansk region’s Starodub district, another fire was reported after a drone attack. Regional governor Vladislav Bogomaz described the incident as a "difficult night" and claimed that a child had been killed and one residential building was completely destroyed.
- On the same night, Russian forces launched another drone strike targeting Kyiv. Drone debris caused damage to a residential building in one district of the city.
