AFU: Russians try to slip between positions in small groups near Borova
In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian forces are pressing at the junctions and trying to infiltrate between positions in small groups, sometimes even one by one
Viktor Petrovych, a serviceman of the 77th Separate Airmobile Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, told Espreso TV.
“At this stage, our situation is very difficult but controlled. We are holding our positions. The enemy is pressing and trying to advance in small groups and similar tactics, but we manage to hold our ground despite being outnumbered, especially in personnel. This is possible thanks to our coordination.
In fact, over the past six months, there haven’t been significant enemy advances in our sector. They press at the junctions and try to infiltrate between positions, hiding in the greenery, in very small groups, sometimes even one by one. Nonetheless, we are holding them back and not allowing the enemy to get closer to Borova. The Kupiansk direction is very large, and near Borova, we are trying to prevent the enemy from creating a vulnerable point, making a breakthrough, or pushing us to the right bank of the Oskil River,” the serviceman said.
Currently, the 77th Separate Airmobile Brigade is raising funds for drone systems. The fundraising goal is 700,000 UAH.
“Drone systems are a crucial part of our strike and reconnaissance forces. It’s very important that they have a variety of equipment — different detonators, adapters — so they can keep flying. Everything the enemy destroys, like antennas and cables, needs to be replaced. This is vital. Drones save infantry lives by providing good reconnaissance and striking the enemy before they reach our positions. That way, our infantrymen in the trenches don’t have to risk themselves in direct combat. Everyone stays safer, and there are no breakthroughs. That’s why donating, especially for drone systems, is very important,” said Viktor Petrovych.
- On August 11, 168 combat clashes have been recorded along the Russian-Ukrainian front.
