According to New Voice, the driver of the 3rd Assault Brigade, Oleksiy Rodin, was featured in a video released on social media by journalist Yuriy Butusov.
The footage shows a Ukrainian soldier advancing through a trench, engaging in close battle with invading Russian troops on his way, and emerging triumphant after eliminating two Russian servicemen at once.
Kremlin propagandists, pleased with his heroism, attempted to portray the Ukrainian as their own serviceman, falsely claiming credit for his achievement.
They claimed the soldier's white bandage on his arm as evidence for their fabrication, although Rodin himself stated that these were bandages used to cover his wounds.
