Russians managed to gain foothold in Ocheretyne, Ukrainian forces are trying to drive them out
Russian troops managed to break through and gain a foothold in Ocheretyne, Donetsk region. However, the part of the settlement occupied by the Russians is under Ukrainian fire control
Nazar Voloshyn, spokesman for the Khortytsia operational and strategic grouping of troops, told Interfax-Ukraine.
“As for Ocheretyne. The enemy broke through and gained a foothold in this settlement. The part where the Russians are located is under our fire control. We are taking measures to drive them out of there,” said the military.
According to Voloshyn, the situation is under Ukrainian Armed Forces control. Ukrainian soldiers are taking all measures to stabilize the situation in this area and bring Ocheretyne back under control, having allocated additional forces and deployed reserves.
Voloshyn emphasized that the most difficult situation at the front is in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions, where fierce fighting is ongoing. The Russians have deployed up to four brigades in these areas and are trying to develop an offensive west of Avdiivka and Marinka.
“Russians achieved certain tactical successes in these areas, but failed to gain an operational advantage,” said the spokesman for Khortytsia operational and strategic grouping of troops.
- On the evening of April 27, Voloshyn confirmed the loss of control over a part of Ocheretyne village, Pokrovsk district, Donetsk region.
