Russians have mobilized 60% of miners in eastern Ukraine, declaring about 100 mines unprofitable

The invading Russian forces themselves brought a significant number of mines in the occupied territories in eastern Ukraine to disappointing economic performance

Artem Lysohor, head of the Luhansk Regional Military District Administration, reports.

According to him, the illegal Russian authorities recognized almost 100 mines out of 114 in the temporarily occupied territories of eastern Ukraine as unprofitable.

Lysohor assures that this is caused not only by a lack of desire to invest in the development of the sector, but also, for example, by forced mobilization, when the Chervonyi Partizan mine could barely gather six men per shift.

“In total, almost 60% of miners were drafted into Russian army in the temporarily occupied territories,” said the head of the Regional Mining Administration.

He also added that a course on UAV operation will be introduced in all Luhansk region's schools starting in September. Officially, drone control will be taught in specialized clubs, but attendance will be mandatory. Russian military personnel will be involved as mentors.
