Russia attacks Kharkiv region with guided bombs, killing rescuer's wife

"The worst thing for rescuers is to respond to a call at their own home... Today, this happened to a firefighter from the Kharkiv Regional State Emergency Service. After a massive aerial bombardment of the village of Velykyi Burluk, he came to extinguish the fire at his own address," the statement said.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs added that the rescuer’s 37-year-old wife was killed by Russian aerial guided bombs, and their 10-year-old son was hospitalized with burn injuries.
Earlier, Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, reported on the Russian attack on Velykyi Burluk.
According to him, at about 10:10 a.m., Russian troops hit the village of Velykyi Burluk in the Kupyansk district with guided bombs. As a result of the attack, a residential building burned down. Another house at another address was also damaged.
“Unfortunately, a woman was killed. A 10-year-old boy, the son of the deceased, suffered burn injuries and was hospitalized,” wrote Syniehubov.
He added that emergency services are currently working to eliminate the consequences.
- On July 30, the bodies of two 61-year-old men with traces of explosive injuries were found in the Kupyansk and Izium districts of the Kharkiv region.
