Russian vessel makes suspicious maneuvers near Poland-Sweden power cable — PM Tusk
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk says that a Russian "shadow fleet" vessel made suspicious maneuvers near a power cable connecting Poland and Sweden
He wrote about this on X.
On Wednesday, May 21, Tusk stated that a Russian “shadow fleet” vessel under sanctions had carried out “suspicious maneuvers” near the power cable connecting Poland and Sweden.
He noted that the Polish military intervened in the incident and the Russian vessel sailed to one of the Russian ports.
A few days ago, the Estonian Navy tried to stop the Jaguar tanker, which was passing through the international waters of the Gulf of Finland in the direction of the port of Primorsk. It is believed that the vessel belongs to the “shadow fleet” of the Russian Federation.
The crew of the tanker reportedly refused to comply with the instructions of the Estonian border guards, but the vessel left Estonian economic waters.
Also, in response to the actions of the Estonian military, Russia sent a fighter jet, which, according to the Estonian army, violated the country's airspace.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhkna said that the incident indicates that Russia is ready to defend its “shadow fleet”.
