Over the last day, Russian forces tried to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops in the Novopavlivka direction 34 times

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported the information.

Over the last day, 76 combat clashes took place. Russians launched 2 missile strikes, 67 air strikes, and 95 attacks at Ukrainian troops' positions and settlements.

"Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks resulted in civilian casualties. Multi-storey and private houses, as well as other infrastructure facilities, were destroyed and damaged," the General Staff added.

Frontline update, Russian attacks on Ukraine

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. Russia launched MLRS attacks near 3 settlements in the Sumy region. Over 30 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops did not conduct any assault actions. They launched air strikes near 2 settlements in Kharkiv and Luhansk regions. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers repulsed 5 attacks near Terny, Donetsk region, where Russian troops tried to break through Ukraine’s defense. About 15 settlements suffered from artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled an attack near Bila Hora, Donetsk region, where Russian troops unsuccessfully tried to improve their tactical position. Russian troops launched air strikes near the settlements of Chasiv Yar, Bohdanivka, Kurdyumivka and Druzhba in Donetsk region. Over 10 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders thwarted 22 attacks near 6 settlements. Russian troops launched an air strike near a settlement in the Donetsk region. More than 15 settlements were subjected to Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian troops keep holding back the Russian army near 4 settlements in the Donetsk region. Despite 34 attempts, Russian forces, supported by aviation, were unable to alter the tactical situation. Russian artillery and mortar fire targeted over 20 settlements.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russian troops launched 5 unsuccessful attacks near 3 settlements. They carried out air strikes near Malynivka and Mala Tokmachka. Over 15 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson direction, Russia persists in attempting to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Two unsuccessful attempts to storm Ukrainian troop positions were made during the day. Over 30 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

Attacks by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on Russian positions

Last night, as a result of an operation by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the Russian ship Project 22160 Sergei Kotov with its crew on board was attacked. Information about the presence of a Ka-29 transport and combat helicopter on board is being checked.

Ukrainian aviation struck 11 concentrations of Russian personnel. Missile units struck a concentration of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment, an ammunition depot, a Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile system and a Zoo-1 reconnaissance and fire control radar system.
