'Russia won’t give up attempts to break through to Donetsk border': Syrskyi visits Pokrovsk front

Ukrainian Armed Forces' Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi reported the information.

He emphasized that this remains the hottest section along the entire 1,200-kilometer front of the Russian-Ukrainian war, with no fewer than fifty combat engagements taking place here every day. The Commander-in-Chief noted that it is in this direction that the Russians have concentrated their largest grouping - around 111,000 personnel.

“The enemy continues trying to break through to the administrative border of Donetsk region. They aim to do this not just for any operational gains, but primarily for demonstration purposes - to achieve a psychological effect: to plant the infamous ‘Russian soldier’s boot,’ stick in a flag, and loudly proclaim another pseudo-victory,” says Syrskyi.

According to him, Russian sabotage and assault groups were particularly active in this area two weeks ago, but all of them were either destroyed or neutralized, with the remnants pushed back farther from the administrative border. The situation is under control, the Commander-in-Chief assured.

He spoke with Ukrainian soldiers in close proximity to the line of contact and on subsequent lines of defense, and held briefings with units of the Armed Forces and the National Guard of Ukraine, who are bravely holding back and destroying the enemy. Syrskyi noted that he was able to study the operational situation in detail, identify all problem areas, and then issued the orders necessary for the effective execution of defensive tasks.
