Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, reported the information.
As of 4:04 p.m., two people were confirmed dead and three injured, all receiving medical care.
Earlier, Bryzhynskyi reported explosions within the city and later confirmed that a missile had hit an area near a checkpoint at the entrance to the settlement of Novoselivka.
At 3:25 p.m., one death and two injuries had been reported.
Bryzhynskyi later clarified that the missile strike targeted humanitarian demining workers conducting mine-clearing operations in the area.
