
Casualties reported after Russian strike on industrial site in Sumy
On Wednesday, May 14, Russian occupation forces struck an industrial infrastructure facility in the Sumy community. The attack resulted in at least two fatalities and multiple injuries
The acting mayor of Sumy, Artem Kobzar, reported the incident.
“The explosion just heard in the city is the result of a strike on an industrial infrastructure facility. Additional information will be provided later,” Kobzar wrote at 3:02 p.m.
As of 3:28 p.m., the Sumy Regional Military Administration confirmed that Russia had carried out a missile strike on an industrial infrastructure site within the Sumy community. Preliminary reports indicated casualties.
“The consequences of the Russian strike are being clarified. Relevant services are working at the scene,” the administration added.
By 3:32 p.m., the head of Sumy’s city military administration, Serhii Kryvosheienko, confirmed that the strike had caused one death and several injuries.
Later, the regional administration reported that seven people were wounded in the attack, three of whom were in critical condition.
According to the Sumy City Council, as of 4:30 p.m., the enemy attack claimed the lives of two people. The number of injured increased to nine, two of whom are in serious condition.
Notably, at 2:42 p.m., Ukraine’s Air Force warned of a ballistic missile threat in regions under air raid alerts.
Ten minutes later, reports emerged of Russian tactical aircraft launching KAB bombs at the Sumy region.
