Russian spy services intensify efforts to recruit Ukrainians in Europe - Ukraine’s intelligence
Russian intelligence steps up efforts to recruit Ukrainians in Europe for illegal activities benefiting Russia
Ukraine's Defense Intelligence (HUR) reported the information.
“Potential recruits are offered monetary rewards for participation in illegal activities, surveillance of critical infrastructure facilities, and carrying out other tasks in favor of the aggressor state,” HUR reported.
The agency noted that this primarily concerns Ukrainian citizens from temporarily occupied territories who find themselves in difficult situations.
At the same time, the intelligence service emphasizes that Russian recruitment of Ukrainians in Europe is a tool of hybrid aggression.
“The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine urges: if suspicious individuals attempt to establish contact, immediately report it to the law enforcement agencies of your country of residence or Ukrainian diplomatic missions,” the statement concludes.
- Earlier, HUR reported that the Central Bank of Russia plans to introduce a "digital ruble" and start paying public sector employees with it from 2026. The state will be able to track and control every transaction.
