Russian propaganda spreads disinformation about killings of civilians in Kursk region
Russians are again spreading propaganda news online about the alleged killings of civilians in the village of Russkoe Porechnoe, Kursk region
This is reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation.
Russia is spreading footage with the bodies of several dead people. The Center noted that the distributed video does not contain any real evidence, it is impossible to establish from it either the number of bodies, the place of the events, the identities of the dead, or the causes and circumstances of their death.

The Center emphasized that such allegations are part of a large-scale and prolonged disinformation campaign regarding the "atrocities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Kursk." Through this, Russian propaganda aims to create a "Russian Bucha" narrative for Russkoe Porechnoe and sustain a high level of hatred towards Ukrainians within society.
Another goal of this campaign is to shift the focus of attention from the crimes of the Russian military against the civilian population of Ukraine.
"However, evidence of Russian war crimes, unlike the fakes spread by Russian propaganda, has been recorded by international organizations," the Center noted.
- Previously, Russian propaganda, without any evidence, accused the Ukrainian Armed Forces of shooting civilians in Kursk.
