Russian opposition is waiting for Ukraine's victory to start acting - MP Mezentseva
MP Maria Mezentseva believes that there is no understanding among the Russian opposition on the fight against the Putin regime
She expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.
"Today we can see that there is no clear understanding among the Russian opposition. There is a feeling that they are waiting for Ukraine to win in order to start acting against the Putin regime. I'm not referring to specific names, but speaking generally about their activities. However, we do have high-level contacts with the Russian opposition. My colleagues and I share the view that we should expand and talk more about the enslaved peoples of the Russian Federation. In particular, in the PACE and the Temporary Investigation Commission of the Ukranian parliament on the enslaved peoples of Russia," Mezentseva said.
According to the lawmaker, representatives of the enslaved peoples of the Russian Federation organise rallies in support of Ukraine.
"All over the world, representatives of the enslaved peoples of the Russian Federation support Ukraine. For example, representatives of the Circassian community in the United States held rallies in support of the bill on assistance to Ukraine. We also talk about the fact that Russia is using enslaved peoples in this war at all platforms. Therefore, the Russian opposition should also work on these issues," she added.
- On April 17, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe supported a resolution calling for the recognition of Vladimir Putin as illegitimate president of Russia.
