Russian night attack: Ukrainian air defense destroys 81 air targets
On the night of June 1st, the Russian army launched 53 missiles and 47 drones at Ukraine. Ukrainian air defense downed 81 aerial targets
Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, the commander of the Air Force, reports.
It is noted that at night, the Russian troops launched a powerful missile and air strike on critical infrastructure in various regions of Ukraine, using air, sea and ground-based missiles, as well as Shahed-type UAVs.
The Russians fired 53 missiles of various types and 47 attack UAVs:
- 35 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles from Tu-95 MS strategic aviation aircraft,
- 4 Iskander-M ballistic missiles,
- 1 Iskander-K cruise missile,
- 10 Kalibr cruise missiles,
- 3 Kh-59/kh-69 guided missiles,
- 47 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs.
Instead, Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile units of Ukrainian Air Force, mobile fire groups and electronic warfare equipment of the Defense Forces destroyed 81 Russian air targets, including 30 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles, 4 Kalibr cruise missiles, one Iskander-K cruise missile, and 46 attack drones.
The spokesman for the Ukrainian Volunteer Army South, Serhii Bratchuk, told Espreso that the Russian forces fired the missiles from a submarine.
- On the evening of May 31 and at night of June 1, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with missiles and Shaheds: air defense was operating in the Kyiv region, explosions were heard in Zaporizhzhia, and a fire broke out at a critical infrastructure facility in the Vinnytsia region. In total, energy facilities in 5 regions came under attack.
