Russian forces start demolishing Mariupol's historic center

Russia is destroying buildings with historical value, even though few of such structures remain in Mariupol. A significant portion of the city was destroyed by their heavy shelling. 

In the central part of the city, Russian-installed authorities have allowed the construction of so-called new housing for mortgages, targeting Russians from depressed regions of Russia and immigrants from Asia.

The National Resistance Center emphasized that this is a deliberate policy aimed at changing the ethnic composition of the population to create the illusion of "restoring life" in the destroyed city.

At the same time, Mariupol residents remain homeless as they are not provided with compensatory housing. According to the National Resistance Center, all construction is exclusively aimed at relocating Russians.

Moreover, despite Russia's claims about "repairs," construction work is frozen due to lack of proper funding, and the imported workers frequently complain about unpaid wages. Because of this, they often only do cosmetic repairs to facades, leaving the buildings uninhabitable inside. However, the image presented to Russian media is shown in "the best traditions" of Russian propaganda.

• Russia claims the volume of construction work completed at the drama theater of occupied Mariupol has reached 65%, and plans to complete the "renovation" by the end of the year.
