Russian forces ramp up pressure on Pokrovsk front — Ukraine's 155th Brigade

Artem Prybylnov, head of the communications department of the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade, stated this on Espreso TV.

"Since the beginning of the new year, the Russian army has been increasing pressure, characterized by constant assaults. Frontal attacks are not yielding results for the Russian troops, so they are trying to act through flanking routes - pushing through the area of the settlement of Hryshyne. Over the past two days, there have been continuous assaults there, with Russian forces attempting to advance primarily at night, during the so-called 'grey zone' period when visibility is limited," commented the head of the communications department of the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade.

According to him, Russia's goal is obvious - to bypass the agglomeration, create a threat to the flanks, and complicate the defense of Pokrovsk. However, Ukraine's Defense Forces operating in this direction are blocking all hostile attempts.

"Over the past two days, over 30 Russian soldiers have been eliminated and up to 10 units of their light equipment destroyed. Russian forces are episodically using heavy armored vehicles to probe our defensive positions. We understand that engineering structures make the advancement routes obvious to us. We had previously planned such advancement routes, which are pre-registered for fire, have remote mining capabilities, and where drone operators are already lying in wait. We have the ability to effectively strike the enemy on these approaches. The Russian army continues to increase the tempo, using their numerical advantage, but unsuccessfully," Prybylnov concluded.

• On January 11, 219 combat clashes were recorded on the Russian-Ukrainian front, with Defense Forces stopping 44 attacks in the Huliaipole direction and 46 in the Pokrovsk direction.
