Russian forces probing for new assault routes in Kupiansk, Siversk sectors
Danylo Borysenko, intelligence chief with the Rubizh Brigade's Anti-Aircraft Missile and Artillery Battalion, spoke about the situation in the Kupiansk and Siversk directions, where the Russian army attempts assault operations on a daily basis
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"The area of responsibility of the Rubizh Brigade includes the Kupyansk and Siversk sectors. Over the past day, the Russians continued attempts at assault operations. In the Siversk sector, there were three assault attempts: in Verkhnokamianske, Ivano-Dariivka, and from the Vyimka side, where Russian troops tried to advance. In the Kupyansk sector, there were five attempts: in Zahryzove and Petropavlivka. Russian forces continue to use their usual tactics, employing a lot of artillery, aviation, and FPV drones," Borysenko noted.
According to the head of intelligence of the anti-aircraft missile artillery division of the Rubizh Brigade, the main burden falls on Ukrainian infantry. However, all other units support it, preventing Russian troops from reaching direct fire contact with Ukrainian troops. Artillerymen, FPV drone pilots, anti-aircraft gunners, tank crews, and fire support units work as a single organism, as one team, striving to keep the Russians away from Ukrainian infantry positions.
"Over the past day, the Russian army had no success in our sectors. However, every day they probe new local directions within the larger operational areas. Russian occupiers attempt to infiltrate between units at junctions and positions. If they receive information about, for example, a rotation of one of our units, they increase the intensity of their assault operations at that time. Overall, I wouldn’t say Russian forces significantly intensified their actions. They advance at roughly the same pace, receive a response from our defenders, and retreat—if they survive," Borysenko emphasized.
- Over the past day, 156 combat engagements were recorded on the Russia-Ukraine front. In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 57 attacks.
