Russia launches 15 missiles, two glide bombs at Kharkiv, killing 7 people, wounding over 30

On Thursday, May 23, multiple explosions were reported in Kharkiv and the surrounding area, resulting in fatalities and injuries

The attack killed at least 7 people and injured 30 more, the Prosecutor General's Office reports.

It is noted that the enemy attacked Kharkiv with S-300 and S-400 missiles from the Belgorod region. Transport infrastructure facilities were damaged in the Kholodnohirskyi district of Kharkiv.

The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, said that Russians had struck Kharkiv nine times - Russia attacked Osnovianskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts. 

It has been established that the strike hit a printing house in the Osnovianskyi district of the city. It is a completely civilian facility, with no military targets nearby. The attack killed 5 employees - three women and two men. At the time of the attack, there were 50 employees at the enterprise. 

The printing house of Vivat Publishing House was also hit, CEO Yulia Orlova wrote in her comments to the Telegram channel "Read, krw, books."

"Yes, this is our printing house. It's on fire now. They are clearing the rubble and rescuing people," she wrote.

The head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported earlier that the enemy struck the city at least 15 times using S-300 missiles.

Strike on the town of Liubotyn

The Russian army attacked the town of Liubotyn in Kharkiv region. Two people were injured as a result. In addition, there is damage to civilian infrastructure.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, the invaders struck the central part of the city in Liubotyn. Seven people are currently known to be wounded. There is also damage to the park, cars, shops, and transportation infrastructure. 

Attack on railroad infrastructure

The Russian army has struck at the civilian railroad infrastructure in Kharkiv region, Ukrzaliznytsia reports.

The enemy attacked several facilities in Kharkiv and the region. As a result of the shelling, six railroad workers were injured. They were provided with medical assistance. 

President Zelenskyy’s reaction

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to the Russian attack on the Kharkiv region. He reported that the enemy fired 15 rockets at the city simultaneously.

"Russian terrorists exploit the fact that Ukraine still lacks adequate air defense and the capability to destroy launchers right at our borders. This shortcoming isn't just ours — it's the world's, which for the third year hasn't dared to deal with terrorists as they deserve," Zelenskyy stated.
