Russian drone attack on Ukraine’s Ternopil kills 1, injures 3

Attack on Ternopil
At 2:38 a.m., the regional military administration reported an attack on the city.
“A high-rise building has been damaged. Emergency services are on site, extinguishing the fire and evacuating residents,” wrote the head of the administration, Vyacheslav Nehoda.
He confirmed that the attack left one person dead and several seriously injured.
The mayor of Ternopil, Serhiy Nadal, stated that a multi-story building was hit: “There are casualties and injuries.”
“Following the strike of a Russian drone on the apartment building, fire engulfed apartments on the top fifth floor and partially on the third and fourth floors. As of now, rescue and emergency services are still working. There are fatalities and critically injured individuals. Doctors are doing everything possible to save the wounded. We are preparing temporary accommodations for Ternopil residents whose apartments were affected. Details will follow,” he wrote at 3:56 a.m.
At 7:18 a.m., the State Emergency Service clarified that one person had died.
"One person was killed, three were injured, and about 100 residents were evacuated. The blast wave damaged windows of neighboring buildings, a school, and 20 cars," the statement read.
Later, the Ministry of Internal Affairs provided details about the victim and the injured: "The attack claimed the life of a 45-year-old man. His wife and two other residents of the building were hospitalized."
Air defense in action in Kyiv region
At 9:49 p.m., the Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported air defense activity in the region.
At 6:12 a.m., the Kyiv City Military Administration stated that the alert in the capital lasted 4.5 hours.
"There were many drones, entering in waves and from different directions. The Ukrainian Defense Forces detected and destroyed about two dozen Russian UAVs that potentially threatened Kyiv. There were no damages or casualties in the capital," the statement said.
At 6:49 a.m., the Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported drones and air defense activity in the region.
Later in the morning, the administration reported that debris from downed Russian targets caused a fire at a warehouse of an agricultural enterprise in one of the region’s districts. The fire was extinguished, and no casualties were reported.
Debris falls in Cherkasy region
According to Ihor Taburets, head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, air defense forces were active in the region overnight and shot down two Shahed drones. No casualties were reported.
However, in the Zolotonosha district, falling drone debris damaged windows in several residential buildings and an agricultural structure.
