The Atesh partisan movement reports a critical situation in Russian units on the Kupiansk front, caused by commanders falsely claiming control of positions in and around the city

This is stated in the movement's announcement.

According to an Atesh agent from within the 122nd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces, the unit's headquarters prematurely reported to higher command about advances and consolidation in a number of areas that actually remain active combat zones.

"Eager to quickly report successes to Moscow and strengthen negotiating positions, the regiment's headquarters prematurely reported taking control of a number of positions within the city and surrounding areas," the movement noted.

As a result, these territories were marked in documents as "rear areas." This has left Russian assault troops "caught in a bureaucratic trap," as artillery units refuse to open fire on the specified coordinates because they are officially considered to be controlled by Russian forces.

According to the Atesh agent, this situation works in favor of the resistance.

"Artillery crews, citing the prohibition against 'firing on their own territories,' are effectively leaving forward infantry units without cover. While command draws up beautiful reports, their assault troops are being methodically destroyed in kill zones without the slightest chance of support. The generals' lies have become the most effective weapon against the Russian army itself," the movement concluded.

  • Recently, Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, refuted claims by Russian Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov about the alleged capture of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi in the Kharkiv region by Russian forces.
