Yields in areas temporarily occupied by Russian forces have dropped due to water shortages caused by the Russian terrorist attack on the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant. The Russian army is now threatening to fine farmers for these poor yields

The National Resistance Center reports that these fines come in the form of lower purchase prices for crops.

Ukrainian farmers in the occupied territories are required to sell their grain to a “state operator” at a fixed price. This operator then sells the grain at market prices, keeping the profit for Russia.

“If the harvest is poor, the price that farmers receive for their grain can be further reduced. This is how the occupying Russian-installed administration controls the industry,” the Center explained.

  • Nova Kakhovka Mayor Volodymyr Kovalenko, shed light on the challenges facing local residents who are being terrorised and suffer a lack of basic services due to the occupation.
