Russian army loses 8 tanks, 19 artillery systems and over 1,000 soldiers in one day - General Staff

There were 84 combat clashes in the frontline over the last day. Ukraine successfully repelled 70 Russian attacks in 8 key areas and eliminated another 1,090 servicemen

This is stated in the morning report of the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff.

The total combat losses of the Russian Federation from 24.02.22 to 13.02.24 are approximately:

  • personnel - about 397,080 (+1,090)
  • tanks - 6,424 (+8)
  • armored combat vehicles - 12,004 (+27) 
  • artillery systems - 9,500 (+19) 
  • MLRS - 981 (+0) 
  • air defense systems - 667 (+1)
  • aircraft - 332 (+0)
  • helicopters - 325 (+0)
  • UAVs of operational and tactical level - 7,332 (+30)
  • cruise missiles - 1,882 (+0)
  • ships/boats - 24 (+0)
  • submarines - 1 (+0)
  • motor vehicles and tankers - 12,623 (+24)
  • special equipment - 1,518 (+4).

Situation at the front: there were 84 combat clashes over the last day, Ukraine’s forces repelled most of Russia’s attacks in the Marinka and Avdiivka sectors

Thus, according to the General Staff, the operational situation has not changed in the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group in the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled two Russian attacks near Synkivka and Tabaivka in Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops repulsed 3 attacks near Terny and north of Vesele in Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Ukrainian army fended off 7 hostile assaults near Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Andriivka and Klishchiivka in Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, the Defense Forces repelled 22 Russian attacks near Avdiivka and another 7 attacks near Tonenke and Nevelske in Donetsk region over the past day.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian troops are holding back Russian forces near Heorhiivka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where 35 attacks were repulsed.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian forces repelled a Russian attack south of Prechystivka, Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Ukrainian military defeated adversary attacks west of Novopokrovka in Zaporizhzhia region.

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa operational-strategic group in the Kherson direction, Ukraine's defense forces continue to hold their positions and repel the attacks of the occupation army. Despite significant losses, Russia continues its attempts to drive Ukrainian troops from their positions. Thus, over the past day, the Russian enemy carried out 2 unsuccessful assault operations.

Russia attacks Ukraine with drones, missiles, and MLRS: Defense forces hit 13 areas of Russians' concentration

In total, the Russian Federation launched 5 missile and 113 air strikes, fired 135 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties. Multi-storey and private houses, as well as other civilian infrastructure, were destroyed and damaged.

At night, the Russian occupation forces once again attacked Ukraine using 23 Shahed-136/131 UAVs. Ukraine's air defense forces destroyed 16 attack UAVs.

Air strikes hit 11 localities in Donetsk region; 3 in Zaporizhzhia region; and 3 in Kherson region.

More than 110 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

At the same time, over the past day, the aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck 13 areas where Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 7 reconnaissance UAVs.

Missile units struck 7 areas where Russian personnel were concentrated, 1 artillery unit and 1 air defense system.

  • On the evening of February 12, the Russian army launched Shahed drones and missiles at Ukraine, and explosions were heard in Dnipro.
