Russian army is turning border area into hell - deputy head of Sumy district council
Volodymyr Bitsak, deputy head of the Sumy District Council, noted that the border communities of Sumy region are constantly being attacked by Russian guided aerial bombs

‘The enemy is targeting the Yunakivska, Myropilska and Bilopilska communities with guided bombs. Yesterday, on August 18, a 30-year-old man was killed in Bilopillia and three others were wounded, including the deceased's child. In total, there were 13 shelling incidents in Sumy district that night. And the day before, there were about 20 explosions of guided aerial bombs in just one night. Now the Russians are making hell on the border, they have gone on a rampage lately and are hitting everything - schools and residential buildings,’ said the deputy head of the Sumy District Council.
Volodymyr Bitsak added that Ukraine's international partners need to provide the country with more F-16s to shoot down enemy aircraft that are dropping the bombs.
- On August 17, despite the operations of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in Kursk region, shelling of the border in Sumy region, including by guided aerial bombs, continues. Evacuations from there have been intensified. A pass regime will be introduced in these areas.
- On August 18, Russian enemy dropped an aerial bomb on the civilian infrastructure of Bilopillia, Sumy district. The strike killed a civilian, his young daughter and wounded two other people.
- News
