Russian army hasn't captured Ocheretyne, fighting is still ongoing there - Information Resistance
Oleksandr Kovalenko, a military and political observer of the Information Resistance group, says that Russian troops control only part of the Ocheretyne village
He said this on Espreso.
"Ocheretyne is not completely lost yet. The fighting continues there. Russians have indeed entered the settlement and control part of Ocheretyne. In particular, the southern part of the village. Now the Defense Forces are trying to drive them out. The units of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade are working on this task in particular. It is worth noting why the Russians are so actively attacking in the direction of Ocheretyne. The fact is that this settlement is located on the 0511 road. This road leads to Pokrovsk logistically," explained Kovalenko.
According to the expert, the Russian forces are trying to bypass the defense lines of Ukrainian units near Avdiivka.
"The Russians are dreaming of advancing in the direction of Pokrovsk. Among other things, Ocheretyne is located to the north of the previously reported location of our defense lines and borders west of Avdiivka. That is, on the one hand, they are still trying to advance in the direction of Pokrovsk, and on the other hand, they want to try to bypass our defense lines," he added.
- On April 23, Druzhkivka City Council member Mykola Dovbnia reported that Russian forces were moving very quickly toward Pokrovsk.
