Russia uses drones for 90% of energy strikes in Ukraine in 2025

This was stated by Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko.
"Over 700 attacks on energy facilities have been recorded since the start of the full-scale invasion, and this year up to 90% of the strikes were carried out using UAVs," he wrote.
According to Klymenko, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Energy are coordinating efforts to act proactively.
Their main priorities include the protection of energy facilities, clear protocols for allowing the State Emergency Service (SES) access to sites for damage control, and joint training exercises.
- In June, President Zelenskyy stated that Russia was planning attacks on Ukraine’s nuclear energy infrastructure, which could go largely unnoticed by the global community due to the focus on the Middle East.
