“Russia is sending into battle whatever can move”: Syrskyi on situation in Pokrovsk sector
Following several days of work in the brigades defending the Pokrovsk direction, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said that the situation there is currently the most difficult
He wrote about this on Facebook.
Syrskyi stressed that the work at the headquarters continues almost around the clock, and that non-standard decisions have to be made to strengthen the defense and destroy the advancing Russian troops.
The Chief of Staff added that the most intense fighting is currently taking place on the eastern outskirts of Hrodivka, further along the border of Kamianyi and Krasnyi Yar, directly in Novohrodivka, and lower down, near the eastern outskirts of Mykhailivka, which is located in front of Selidove.
‘The fighting is extremely fierce. The enemy is throwing everything that can move and advance into the battle, trying to break through the defenses of our troops. Our soldiers are showing courage and heroism in battles with superior enemy forces,’ noted Syryskyi.
He praised the soldiers of the 25th Detached Airborne Brigade, the 68th Detached Jaeger Brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush and the 150th Detached Mechanized Brigade, “who leave no chance for the enemy to return alive and unharmed from the battlefield.”
‘In such conditions, our main task is to strengthen the defense of our troops in the most difficult areas of the frontline, to provide the brigades with sufficient ammunition and other material and technical means. My work has been devoted to solving these issues,’ the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine summed up.
