Russia threatens foreign journalists reporting in Kursk region
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is threatening criminal proceedings against foreign journalists working and filming in the Kursk region
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated this.
‘Criminal cases have already been opened against a number of such representatives of foreign media for illegally crossing the state border of the Russian Federation. All such incidents are carefully recorded, and appropriate measures will be taken against the offenders,’ the spokeswoman said.
At the same time, she called foreign journalists working in the Kursk region ‘traitors to their profession who have resorted to direct participation in the fabrication and dissemination of Ukranian Nazi propaganda’.
Zakharova accused the journalists of allegedly justifying the Ukrainian operation in the Kursk region.
‘We consider such activity of the Western media as evidence of their direct involvement in the large-scale hybrid aggression against Russia,’ the spokeswoman added.
- The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has opened a criminal case against Italian journalists - cameraman Simone Traini of the Italian state broadcaster Rai and correspondent Stefania Battistini, who filmed a report from Sudzha. The management recalled them home.
