Russia targets border checkpoint near Romania, injuring two drivers
In the early hours of September 2, Russian forces launched an attack on the Izmail district's port and border infrastructure. Two truck drivers were injured, one of whom is a Turkish national. The Orlivka border crossing has been temporarily shut down

"At dawn, the enemy hit the Izmail district using attack drones. Their target was the port and border infrastructure," Kiper stated.
He noted that two truck drivers were injured, one of them a Turkish citizen.
"The Russians specifically targeted the checkpoint to disrupt civilian movement across the border. This is pure terror aimed at ordinary people," he stressed.
Earlier, Ukraine's State Customs Service confirmed steps are being taken to stabilize operations at the Orlivka checkpoint after Russia's night strike.
Currently, transit through the checkpoint has been suspended until 11:00 a.m.
"Please factor in these developments when planning your travel. We'll notify you when the Orlivka checkpoint resumes operations," the statement read.
