The head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleh Kiper, reported the information.

As of the morning of May 24, it became known that the number of victims of the Russian attack on Odesa the day before had increased. A 41-year-old man died in hospital from his injuries.

Earlier it was reported that another port worker was killed and 8 people were injured as a result of the enemy attack.

"Four of them are in serious condition, two are in moderate condition and two others sustained minor injuries. Our doctors are providing them with all the necessary assistance and are fighting for the life and health of everyone," added the head of the Regional Military Administration.

According to Oleksii Kuleba, Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine, Minister of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, the Russian attack damaged the engine room, smashed windows and doors in administrative buildings, and destroyed vehicles and equipment.

"It was a regular working day in a regular Ukrainian port. People were working, equipment was reloading containers. There was not a single military object, only civilian infrastructure. Russia has once again attacked a peaceful, strategically important facility that is important for the world's food security," Kuleba emphasized.

He added that since the start of the full-scale war, Russia has damaged or destroyed nearly 400 port infrastructure facilities and more than 30 vessels. A total of 106 civilians have been affected.

As of 6:38 p.m., Oleh Kiper reported that the number of victims of the missile attack had increased. A 71-year-old Odesa resident died in hospital from his injuries.

  • The State Ecological Inspectorate recorded that as a result of the Russian attack on Odesa on May 1, the damage to the Ukrainian environment reached 700,000 hryvnias.
