Russian army storms Ukrainian positions in 10 directions: General Staff names hottest frontline areas

This is stated in the report of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff on July 31 as of 8:00 am.

In the Kharkiv direction, the Russian army continued offensive (assault) actions, with a total of six combat clashes. The fighting took place in particular in the vicinity of the settlements of Tykhe and Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk direction, the number of combat clashes amounted to seven over the day. The Ukrainian defense forces repelled hostile attacks near Pishchane and Stelmakhivka in the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 18 Russian attacks near Makiivka and Nevske in the Luhansk region.

In the Siversk direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces rebuffed four attacks near Verkhniokamianske, Pereizne, and Vyimka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian troops stopped 12 Russian attempts to break through the Ukrainian defense in the area of Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region.

The Russian forces tried to break into Ukraine's defense in the Toretsk sector 23 times in the areas of Pivnichne, Toretsk, New York, and Zalizne.  

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repulsed 48 attacks in the area of 9 settlements, where Russia tried to force Ukraine's units out of their positions. 

In the Kurakhove direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the Russian enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka, and Paraskoviivka, where Russia's troops tried to break through Ukrainian defensive positions 16 times. 

In the Vremivka direction, Russia's forces made five unsuccessful attempts to break through the Ukrainian defense in the direction of Stepova Novosilka in the Donetsk region.

In the Orikhiv direction, five combat clashes took place in the area of Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne and Novoandriivka in Zaporizhzhia region.

The situation along the Belarus border remained unchanged. No signs of the formation of Russian offensive groups were detected. 

On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the Russian Armed Forces maintain a military presence, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, and shells settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation.

Russian army launches missile attack and 85 airstrikes on Ukraine

Yesterday, the Russian troops launched one missile attack on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas using one missile, as well as 85 airstrikes, including 141 drones.

In addition, they made 4,352 attacks, including 90 from multiple launch rocket systems.

Russia carried out air strikes in the areas of 10 settlements in Kharkiv region; 14 in Donetsk region; 3 in Zaporizhzhia region; and 4 in Kherson region.

Ukrainian forces destroyed Russia's air defense system and three ammunition depots

Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces conducted seven strikes on the areas of Russian personnel concentration, and also destroyed an air defense system, three ammunition depots and a logistics depot.

• Over the course of the Russian-Ukrainian war on July 29, the Ukrainian Defense Forces managed to eliminate 1,060 invaders and dozens of pieces of Russian equipment.
