Ukraine strikes Russian plant upgrading Shaheds, MiG jets in major July 11 strike
Russia and occupied Crimea faced a massive drone attack overnight on July 11. While Moscow claimed 155 drones were downed, some reportedly hit targets, sparking fires, explosions, casualties, and disrupting key facilities and airports
Russian Telegram channels and media outlets, including ASTRA, have reported this.
Kursk region
At least two facilities were attacked in the Kursk region:
Maloye Soldatskoye village, Belovsk district - a drone hit the agricultural enterprise Pselskoye LLC.
"A Ukrainian drone struck the enterprise... As a result of the attack, a fire broke out in the production facilities of the enterprise, where the equipment is located," Hinstein said.
Karl Liebknecht village, Kurchatov district - the attack set fire to a warehouse with wooden materials of about 50 m². The fire was extinguished. There were no casualties.
Tula region
The most devastating consequences were recorded in the Proletarsky district of Tula, where three large defense enterprises are located:
- JSC Design Bureau of Instrumentation
- NPO SPLAV (production of multiple launch rocket systems)
- JSC Shcheglovsky Val (development of air defense, guided weapons)
Eyewitnesses reported multiple explosions, captured on video near high-rise buildings on Khvorostukhin Street. The nearest plants are less than 2 km away.
"The Tula region has been attacked by enemy drones once again... Unfortunately, one person was killed and another was injured," the governor said.
These enterprises were already targeted in May and June, when damage to warehouses, substations and the complete cessation of work in some shops was recorded.
Lipetsk region
In Khlevensky district, a UAV crashed into the territory of an agricultural enterprise:
"Unfortunately, there were some casualties. One person was killed and another was injured," the governor said.
A fire broke out and was quickly extinguished. The cause of death and the nature of the damage were not disclosed.
Moscow region
The town of Lukhovitsy, near the Voronin Aviation Plant (a branch of the MiG company) and an oil depot, was also hit by a night attack. Locals reported loud explosions, and a video with the geolocation of the explosion near the 46N-05249 highway was released.
Restrictions were also imposed on flights at Moscow's Zhukovsky airport.
According to Andriy Kovalenko, head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation, the Lukhovitsy Aviation Plant came under attack.
“It specializes in the production and modernization of MiG-29 and MiG-31 fighter jets and their variants. The plant is also involved in developing new combat aircraft, including the ‘advanced frontline fighter’ project based on the MiG platform. In addition, it plays a role in the modernization cycle of the Geran/Shahed UAVs,” Kovalenko stated.
Dubna, Moscow region: Another attack on the Kronstadt plant
In the city of Dubna, the Kronstadt enterprise, which specializes in the development of Russian UAVs, was attacked again. The first attack on this facility took place in May and was confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This time, the explosions were reported by local residents.
St. Petersburg
Rosaviation announced the temporary suspension of the operation of one of the largest airports in Russia - Pulkovo in St. Petersburg. The reason is the threat of an air attack.
Taganrog
The wreckage of the neutralized UAV fell on the territory of the Beriev Taganrog Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex (TASTC).
"The mobile group neutralized the UAV. Its wreckage fell on the territory of TANTK," said the mayor of the city Svetlana Kambulova.
There were no casualties, emergency services are working.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, only one night's worth were destroyed:
- 53 drones - over Kursk region
- 19 - Bryansk region
- 15 - Smolensk region
- 14 - Belgorod region
- 13 - Tula region
- 11 each - Orel region and Moscow region
- 7 - annexed Crimea
- 4 each - Lipetsk region and the Black Sea
- 2 each - Kaluga and Rostov regions
