Ukrainian forces target Russian oil depot in Tula region, air defenses in occupied territories
On the night of January 18, drones from Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate attacked an oil depot in Russia's Tula region. Additionally, Ukraine's Defense Forces targeted Russian air defense systems in the temporarily occupied Kherson and Donetsk regions
The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported the information.
Units of the Main Intelligence Directorate in coordination with other components of the Defense Forces, attacked the federal state institution 8 March in Russia's Tula region. According to the agency, this facility was used for storing oil products.
As a result of the attack, a fire was reported on the premises of the facility. The General Staff noted that the oil depot is involved in supplying the occupying Russian army. The consequences of the attack are being clarified.
In addition, Ukrainian UAVs struck a Nebo-SVU radar station in the temporarily occupied Kherson region.
Moreover, Ukraine's missile forces struck a Buk-M3 system and a 9S32M radar station of the S-300 air defense system located in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region. The extent of the damage is still being assessed.
"The Defense Forces of Ukraine will continue to deliver such strikes until the Russian Federation's armed aggression against our country is fully stopped," the agency emphasized.
Ukrainian media outlets, including RBC-Ukraine, Ukrainska Pravda, and Ukrinform previously reported, citing sources in Ukrainian intelligence, that "at least ten precise drone strikes hit an oil depot in the Tula region on the night of January 18."
Earlier, the governor of the Tula region, Dmitry Milyaev, wrote: “There was a fire in a fuel and lubricant container at one of the region's enterprises. Fire crews are working. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties."
Milyaev wrote about the alleged air defense operation and accused Ukraine of the attack.
Russian telegram channels, citing local sources, wrote that the fire allegedly broke out near an oil depot.
