Russia plunders 2.5 million tons of new Ukrainian wheat harvest
Russia has exported 2.5 million tons of new wheat harvest from temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories
The National Resistance Center of Ukraine reported the information.
“The occupiers continue to plunder Ukrainian lands. From the temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions, about 2.5 million tons of the new wheat harvest have already been taken to Russia,” the report states.
The Center for National Resistance emphasized that Russian propaganda acknowledges the grain export and stressed that such actions constitute a war crime and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, as Russia turns the food from temporarily occupied territories into a military trophy and a tool of pressure.
“In reality, this is large-scale looting, control over agricultural enterprises, and blocking farmers’ access to their own products,” the Center added.
- Since 2022, Russia has exported 15 million tons of grain from Ukraine. This year alone, it plans to harvest about 1 million tons of grain in Luhansk region, mostly wheat.
