Russia loses military aircraft, 30 artillery systems, over 1,200 soldiers in one day in Ukraine

This is stated in the report of the Ukrainian General Staff.

Russia's total combat losses from 02.24.22 to 05.12.24 are estimated to be:

Frontline situation

According to the General Staff, the situation on the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus has not changed significantly. 

In the border area of the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the Russian army is conducting subversive activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, is shelling the settlements near the border, and is also mining the territory along the state border. The enemy launched an airstrike in the area of the city of Sumy.

In the northeastern border area, the Ukrainian troops repelled 12 attacks near 12 settlements in the Kharkiv region. Russian forces launched airstrikes near 11 settlements of the Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces rebuffed 19 attacks near Synkivka, Novoyehorivka, Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region, and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region. Russian forces conducted airstrikes in the area of 2 settlements of the Luhansk region.

In the Lyman direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 10 attacks near 5 settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

In the Siversk direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 16 attacks near 5 settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 27 attacks near Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Hryhorivka, Novyi of the Donetsk region, where Russian forces, with the support of aviation, tried to improve the tactical position. Russians also carried out an airstrike near Kurdyumivka, Donetsk region.

Russians did not conduct offensive (assault) actions in the Toretsk direction. However, they carried out airstrikes in the areas of Pivnichne and New York settlements of the Donetsk region.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled 32 attacks near 9 settlements of the Donetsk region, where Russian troops, with the support of aviation, tried to dislodge Ukrainian units from their lines. Russians also carried out airstrikes in the areas of 6 settlements in the Donetsk region.

In the Kurakhove direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are restraining Russian troops near 4 settlements, where Russians, with the support of aviation, tried to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops 10 times.

In the Vremivka direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 16 attacks near Urozhaine, Staromayorske in the Donetsk region, where Russian troops, with the support of aviation, tried to dislodge Ukrainian units from the occupied lines.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces, with the support of aviation, attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders twice in the Robotyne area of the Zaporizhzhia region. They also carried out an airstrike near Storozheve, Donetsk region, and Mala Tokmachka, Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, Russian troops persist in attempting to dislodge Ukrainian units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Throughout the day, they carried out five unsuccessful attacks on Ukrainian troops' positions near the settlement of Krynky, Kherson region, with aviation support. Additionally, they conducted an airstrike near the settlement of Antonivka, Kherson region.

Ukrainian forces target 9 Russian positions; Russian troops launch missiles, artillery, and air strikes on Ukraine

Detailed reports indicate that throughout the day, Ukrainian Air Defense Forces' aviation and missile units targeted 3 Russian anti-aircraft missile systems, 2 artillery units, 2 radar stations, and 9 personnel clusters.

Simultaneously, Russia conducted 13 missile strikes and 118 air strikes, in addition to launching 120 MLRS attacks on both military positions and civilian areas. Unfortunately, these Russian attacks resulted in civilian casualties, with high-rise buildings, private residences, and other infrastructure sustaining significant damage and destruction.
