Russia loses 780 soldiers, 12 tanks, 30 artillery systems, 29 armored vehicles - Ukraine's General Staff

During the day on April 1, Russia launched 8 missile and 93 air strikes, attacked 126 times Ukrainian settlements and military positions with multiple launch rocket systems

Russia's total combat losses from 02/24/22 to 02/04/24 are estimated to be:

  • Personnel - about 443,660 (+780 during the day) people 
  • tanks - 6,998 (+12) 
  • armored combat vehicles - 13,350 (+29) 
  • artillery systems - 11,112 (+30)
  • UAVs of operational and tactical level - 8,779 (+22),
  • cruise missiles - 2,058 (+1),
  • vehicles and fuel tankers - 14,783 (+31) 
  • special equipment - 1,832 (+6) 
  • MLRS - 1,023 (+0) 
  • air defense systems - 744 (+0) 
  • Aircraft - 347 (+0) 
  • helicopters - 325 (+0)

71 combat clashes took place in the frontline

The situation on the northern Ukrainian border has not changed significantly. In the northeastern border area, the Russian army is conducting subversive activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and is also mining the territory along the state border.

In the Kupyansk direction, no enemy attacks took place over the last day.

In the Lyman direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled nine Russian attacks near Terny, Donetsk region, where Russia tried to storm Ukrainian positions with the support of aviation.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops repulsed 18 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka in Luhansk region, and near 6 more settlements in Donetsk region, where Russian troops attacked with the support of aviation.

In the Avdiivka direction, 10 Russian attacks were repelled in the vicinity of Berdychi and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the Russian forces tried to break through the Ukrainian defense more than 25 times with the support of aviation near 4 localities in the Donetsk region.

In the Orikhivsk direction, the invading troops made 4 assaults on the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces near Staromayorske in Donetsk region and northwest of Verbove in Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, the occupation forces continue their attempts to drive Ukrainian units from their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River: they attacked Ukrainian positions 4 times yesterday.

Aviation of Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck 1 control point and 7 areas of concentration of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment. Missile troops hit 1 UAV ground control station, 1 air defense facility, 2 electronic warfare stations, 1 ammunition depot and 1 area of Russian troops concentration.

Russian attacks on populated areas

At night, Russian occupation forces attacked Ukraine once again, using 10 Shahed UAVs. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 9 attack UAVs.

Over the past day, 1 locality in Chernihiv region, 2 in Sumy region, 7 in Kharkiv region, 2 in Luhansk region, 17 in Donetsk region, 2 in Zaporizhzhia region and 1 in Kherson region were hit by air strikes.

Russians shelled more than 120 localities in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions with artillery.
