Situation at the frontline: Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled more than 50 Russian attacks in 6 sectors over the last day

The General Staff's report states that the operational situation in the northern Ukrainian border remains without significant changes.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army conducts subversive activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas and increases the density of minefields along the state border.

The Russian occupation forces did not conduct offensive (assault) actions in the Kupyansk sector.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled one Russian attack near Terny, Donetsk region, where the Russian troops, supported by air power, tried to break through the Ukrainian defense.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Ukrainian military rebuffed 14 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region and 5 more settlements in Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukraine's defenders repulsed 6 attacks near Berdychi, Umanske and Nevelske in Donetsk region, where Russia's troops, supported by air power, tried to force Ukraine's units out of their positions.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukraine's defense forces are holding back their enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka and Novomykhailivka, where the Russian troops, with the support of aviation, tried to break through the defense of our positions 26 times.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russia attacked the Ukrainian positions twice near Staromayorske, Donetsk region, and northwest of Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, the Russian forces do not give up their intention to drive Ukrainian units from their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, over the past day, they made 6 unsuccessful attacks on the Ukrainian troops' positions.

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers continue to inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, depleting the Russian enemy along the entire front line.

Attacks on Ukraine’s territory

In total, Russia launched 4 missile and 97 air strikes, fired 92 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Several multi-storey buildings and other civilian infrastructure facilities were destroyed and damaged.

At night, the Russian occupation forces once again attacked Ukraine using 20 Shahed UAVs. The Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed all the attack UAVs.

Over the past day, 1 locality in Sumy region and the city of Sumy; 5 settlements in Kharkiv region; 3 in Luhansk region; 22 in Donetsk region; and 2 in Zaporizhzhia region were hit by air strikes.

About 120 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.

Destruction of Russia's facilities

Over the past day, the aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck 4 anti-aircraft missile systems and 7 areas of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration.

Missile units destroyed 1 air defense system, 2 electronic warfare stations and 2 areas where Russian personnel were concentrated.

  • On the night of April 8, the Russian army launched several groups of attack drones in Ukraine. Explosions were heard in Poltava, Lviv, and Khmelnytskyi regions.
